Alicia Segovia, FNP-C, Founder
I've been where you've been. Trying to hold it all together while you're falling apart. Maybe you're finishing your schooling, navigating your professional career, building a family, or juggling it all.
It is rough out there!
According to the American Psychological Association report, young adults in America have been experiencing stress like never before with ages 18-34 year olds rating their average stress as a 6 out of 10.
Feeling this way can lead to social isolation, difficulty at work or school, relationship problems, and a risk of developing chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
And who has time to get sick when you're doing literally everything?
You take care of everyone else. Who takes care of you?
This is your time to invest in yourself.
And I'm here for it.
With a rainbow bandaid.

Alicia Segovia, FNP

Why should I book your telehealth services instead of other platforms that may be insurance covered options?
Average physician panels range around 1,200 to 2,500 patients. With the current healthcare climate, you may not be actively seeing your provider and may instead be relying on multiple extenders (NP's or PA's) to be involved in your care. This can make the patient-to-provider relationship more difficult to cultivate and may even lead to communication breakdowns, disjointed documentation, replicated errors, and conflicting care plans. For this reason, we offer personalized and continual care enabling you to build a long-term relationship with one provider.
Instead of focusing on reimbursement rates, insurance, and billing, our self pay model allows us to spend our time developing a therapeutic connection and providing a customized treatment plan.
Communication, even outside of your appointment, is between you and your provider. This eliminates the front office clerks or clinical assistants, allowing focused and idividualized care.
Most of your appointments are 15 minutes. Is this enough time to build a relationship or take care of my health concerns?
The average in office appointment with a primary care doctor ranges from 15-20 minutes. Even with an appointment at your doctor's office, you can expect a lengthy wait time. This isn't including paperwork to complete and the clinical intake needed prior to your appointment.
At The Rainbow Bandaid, your time is completely yours. This information has already been collected prior to your appointment allowing us to focus on you, your needs, and your goals.
15 minute appointments allow the ability to offer same day or next day appointments to increase patient convenience. With the ability to self schedule, we can also extend consultations if necessary to allow in-depth, non-rushed discussions about your health.

Sick Visit FAQs:
Am I a good candidate for Telehealth?
Telehealth is best used as a supplement to in-person visits, not a complete replacement. Telehealth services are not recommended for severe pain or any condition requiring immediate hands-on medical attention. Telehealth is not recommended in a situation in which a provider may need to perform a physical examination (touching) or auscultation (listening with a stethoscope) to make a diagnosis or monitor progress.

Weight Loss FAQs:
How much does weight loss treatment cost? Is it included with the visit?
The visit does not include medication cost. Cost varies depending on GLP-1 chosen. Semaglutide ranges from approximately $100-300 per month and Tirzepatide ranges from $200-500 per month.
How long do I need to stay on a GLP-1?
For weight management, GLP-1s are typically used for 6 to 12 months. After achieving weight loss goals, some individuals may chose to discontinue the medication while others may continue to maintain weight loss.
When will I notice weight loss results?
While results vary by person, most people on a GLP-1 will notice weight loss within the first few weeks with the most significant weight loss happening after 3 to 6 months.
What are the potential side effects of compounded GLP-1s?
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, and stomach pain. Medications can be prescribed or recommended over the counter to counter these side effects.
More serious but rare risks include pancreatitis (pancreas inflammation) and cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation).
How do I know if a GLP-1 is right for me?
People with personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 should not start a GLP-1 due to potential tumor risk. It is also not recommended if you have a personal or family history of pancreatitis, certain severe gastrointestinal disorders like gastroparesis or inflammatory bowel disease, or severe gallbladder disease. GLP-1s are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Baseline labs are ordered to establish a health reference prior starting your GLP-1 to detect any changes or abnormalities that may occur during treatment.
